Fire Prevention & Risk Assessment Services

Hawthorn Safety are able to provide businesses with a wide range of services to help deal with Fire Prevention, including preparing a Fire Risk Assessment.

On October 1st 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) came into force. This was a major change in legislation placing the legal requirement to create a Fire Risk Assessment upon ‘The Responsible Person’ within a business and thereby replacing the previous fire certificates which had been historically completed by the local Fire Service.

These new fire regulations were intended to simplify matters and to remove the pressure and responsibility away from the Fire Service. They would also make it more straight forward for Employers to understand what was required of them.

What is Fire Risk assessment?

Fire safety is the set of practices intended to reduce the damage, destruction and possible loss of life caused by fire. Fire safety measures include those that are intended to prevent the ignition of an uncontrolled fire, and those that are used to limit the development and effects of a fire after it starts.

What will hawthorn Safety do?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) applies to all commercial premises, including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupations (HMOs).

The law applies to you if you are:

  • Responsible for business premises
  • An employer or self-employed with business premises
  • Responsible for a part of a dwelling where that part is solely used for business purposes
  • A charity or voluntary organisation
  • A contractor with a degree of control over any premises
  • Providing accommodation for paying guests
  • Fire remains potentially the most damaging and disruptive event that any business can face. A devastating fire will almost inevitably lead to loss of production or productive activity which can lead to a loss of orders, a loss of customers and mostly, the loss of jobs.

A significant amount of business simply never recover from the effects of a large fire.

Here at Hawthorn Safety we provide a wide range of services such as fire risk assessments, fire extinguisher installation and servicing as well as PAT Testing and Fire Warden training.

At Hawthorn Safety we put our clients at the heart of everything we do, recognising that each one is different and has individual needs. Our assessments are tailored to your business and our efforts are focused on building an easy-to-use, action-based document.
